Marie Kidwell

I began practicing Pilates in my 20s while working as a lawyer in the City. With frequent travel, I appreciated the flexibility of being able to practice anywhere in the world. I was captivated by the positive changes in my body and thoroughly enjoyed the mental and physical challenges that Pilates provides.

After becoming a Partner at my law firm and accumulating several years of Pilates experience, I made a significant career change. I transitioned to Pilates full-time, initially training as a Body Control Pilates instructor before teaching at a leading studio. I’ve had the privilege of training and working with some of the world’s most renowned teachers, and I enjoy staying up to date with the latest trends and developments in the field.

My passion for systematic movement and my interest in the connection between the mind, breath, and optimal movement inspired me to also qualify as a yoga instructor. I completed a 200-hour teacher training program with the renowned Mercedes Sieff, followed by a 50-hour Yin and breath yoga course with Norman Blair. Yoga and Pilates complement each other beautifully, and my teaching style draws inspiration from both disciplines.

My approach focuses on engaging students with varied and challenging exercises tailored to their specific needs. Through my study of anatomy, I’ve gained a deep understanding of how different exercises impact injury prevention and recovery, weight management, and muscle development. My students come from diverse backgrounds, ranging from elite athletes to individuals with limited time for exercise.

I am passionate about Pilates, yoga, and movement, and my goal is for every student to leave each session feeling the positive benefits for both their mind and body.

"Marie is an amazing teacher - clear with her instructions, enthusiastic and encouraging. She clearly comes from a place of knowledge and understanding and it's simply lovely being taught by such a passionate Pilates instructor."  Lucy Hislop - Journalist
